Beginning in February 2021 magicJack is now offering a mobile app subscription only service to new users to download and subscribe to mobile app calling services. Service will be available to existing magicJack customers in April 2021.<\/p>\n
This subscription is only available as a monthly recurring service available via the Apple Store<\/a> or Google Play Store<\/a>. Once signed up, users can select the type of service (incoming, outgoing or both) as well as text messaging feature.<\/p>\n Note \u2013 payment is made via your Apple or Google store accounts and not via the magicJack.com website<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n \n <\/div>\n Features include:<\/p>\n The Paid App subscription does not require an active magicJack device service subscription.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Companion App is a free app that requires an active magicJack device service subscription to use.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n \n <\/div>\n Yes, you can change your subscription at any time on your mobile device by going to your Apple or Google account, selecting manage subscriptions and make any needed changes there.<\/p>\n You cannot edit or change your service on your magicJack account site (my.magicJack.com) or with customer service, the subscriptions are managed exclusively with your device account (Apple or Google).<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n \n <\/div>\n No, you cannot port number to a Paid App subscription.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n \n <\/div>\n Yes, you can subscribe to the Paid App subscription and chose from either a U.S. Free phone number or Premium numbers \u2013 Custom, Vanity or Canadian Phone number.<\/p>\n Make sure you have downloaded the version of magicApp on your Android or iOS device.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n \n <\/div>\n Text messaging to your magicApp telephone number must be coming from a 10-digit telephone number.\u00a0 Short codes (like banks and verification codes) will not work with magicApp.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n \n <\/div>\n No, you can only send a message to one telephone number at a time.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n \n <\/div>\n No, picture\/video messages (MMS) are not available.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n \n <\/div>\n No, the operating system (Android and iOS) cannot be changed for the Paid Mobile App only subscription.\u00a0 Once your subscription expires on one device type you can sign up on the other operating system, however it will be a new account with a new telephone number.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n \n <\/div>\n To cancel a subscription on the Google Play app<\/strong><\/p>\n To cancel a subscription on your iPhone, iPad or iPod<\/strong><\/p>\n Yes, call blocking is available with magicApp.<\/p>\n You can easily block up to 99 telephone numbers. When a telephone number on your blocked number list attempts to contact you, they will receive a busy signal, and your phone will not ring.<\/p>\n Note that text messages will also be blocked when originating phone number is added to block list.<\/p>\n If you are using magicApp on Android\/iOS device, you can enable and disable Call blocking from Settings menu in magicApp.<\/p>\n To directly add a Phone number to block list from magicApp, follow below steps:<\/p>\n Editing blocked numbers<\/p>\n Tips for blocking telemarketers<\/p>\n We recommend that you register your magicJack telephone number(s) on the National Do Not Call Registry (found at www.donotcall.gov<\/a>). The National Do Not Call Registry allows you to opt out of receiving telemarketing. Most telemarketers will not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days.<\/p>\n If you continue to receive telemarketing calls after 31 days have passed, you can file a complaint on the www.donotcall.gov<\/a> website.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n \n <\/div>\n Yes, we do support 911 calling from magicApp. However, make sure that you are using the updated version of magicApp. To download latest version of magicApp, please visit - the Apple Store<\/a> or Google Play Store<\/a>.<\/p>\n To make any changes to 911, navigate to Settings<\/strong> option on magicApp and look for Emergency dialing (911)<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n \n <\/div>\n To purchase International Prepaid Credits:<\/p>\n Alternatively, you can purchase International Prepaid Credits from magicJack account portal by logging at my.magicJack.com<\/p>\n Note: Prepaid credits will expire six months after purchase.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n \n <\/div>\n Calls that originate from an unverified source may be marked as Scam Likely<\/b> in the caller ID display. You can choose to ignore (not answer) or add them to your block list.<\/p>\n Similarly, if you have enabled voicemail via email, the subject line of the voice email will also indicate either Scam Likely<\/b> or Verified<\/b> to help you filter the email messages more easily.<\/p>\n If you experience issues receiving incoming calls from a specific number, make sure to check your Call Blocking<\/a> settings.
